As much as many of us are in denial, fall is just around the corner! In Toronto we mark the start of the end of summer with the opening of The Canadian National Exhibition. With September quickly approaching, I’ve got Fall style trends on my mind! I’ll round up a few fashion and beauty trends that I’ve been spotting to get you ready to face the cooler weather in style.

Fall Style Trends: Booties

When you think about fall you automatically think about warm colours and textures. Once cooler temperatures start a bootie like this one from Cougar Boots is a great way to update your fall wardrobe. Olive is also an unexpected neutral colour that goes with everything!

Fall Style Trends: Pumps

Earlier this year I attended the Nine West Fall 2016 preview and the trend for pumps was also textures and patterns mimicking textures. My favourite shoes of the bunch were these unique grey suede pumps and these elegant round toe pumps with fall foliage colours on them.

Fall Style Trends: Transitional Layering Pieces

When fall hits, there’s no reason to ditch your lighter coloured pieces or short sleeved tops and dresses. Just find some transitional layering pieces like sweaters, cardigans and bomber jackets. They are perfect to update your wardrobe and provide an extra layer of warmth. The texture trend applies to clothes as well – look for cozy and comfortable materials. As for colour, soft colours are key! Look for taupe or blush pink layering pieces to keep you on trend.
