Work Maternity Wear featuring PinkBlush Maternity {Giveaway}

Most women I know are still working when they are expecting. It can be a challenge to dress a growing belly and changing body while still looking professional and polished! Work maternity wear can be difficult to find as many of the maternity wear clothes I’ve seen are often on the more casual side. You can still make these clothes work as long as you don’t work in a really corporate environment with a strict dress code.

My friend Megan of MeganJoy.ca introduced me to PinkBlush Maternity  with her cute maternity style posts! While our personal styles are very different, I loved how she was able to find pieces that were stylish and comfortable too.

Since I’m quite petite (read: short and small!) my frame hasn’t changed much since becoming pregnant. Of course I’ve had to accommodate for my expanding belly and hips but everything else has pretty much stayed the same. This presented me with the same fashion challenges I had pre-pregnancy.

I loved that PinkBlush Maternity had so many options available to me including work maternity wear. Since the top part of me has stayed pretty much the same size, I zeroed in on fitted dresses and skirts to work with my style and body frame.

This fitted floral maternity skirt suited me perfectly. Before getting pregnant I often wore pencil skirts and dresses so I missed dressing in these styles! Since there are so many colours in this skirt it will work well with existing pieces in your wardrobe too. I paired this skirt with a black tank (which most of have) and flats for comfort.

Keep in mind it was a REALLY hot day when these photos were snapped! To polish up the look for the office I would throw on a blazer or cardigan and low comfortable heels.

The skirt is very stretchy and extremely comfortable. The belly portion is soft and will expand to accommodate my ever growing bump likely until the end of my pregnancy! I’m so glad I discovered this brand – they have really great pieces available that will suit anyone’s style.

Style Tip:

Something to keep in mind – if you have a similar petite frame then you’ll want to look for more fitted pieces so the proportions will be flattering. Anything overly flowy can be overwhelming on a petite frame – pregnant or not!

Do you have any tips for finding work maternity wear?
