Brunch at Easy Restaurant

Brunch has become a “trend” among city dwellers. Perhaps it started with late night partying on a Friday or Saturday evening, sleeping in, and indulging on a huge breakfast to cure the lingering hangover. Whatever the reason, the brunch trend is absolutely here to stay which makes me VERY happy as breakfast foods are among my favourites!

I don’t indulge in brunch very often as it can get expensive, and there’s really no need to consume that amount of food every weekend! But, when I do indulge it’s usually on vacation or to catch up with good friends!

With so many brunch options around Toronto (I’ve previously written about the Park Hyatt’s menu as well) it’s easy to find something for your every mood. When I’m in the mood for something laid back and casual my first choice is always Easy Restaurant.

Easy Restaurant  has been a favourite neighborhood place for years; located at the corner where Queen Street West and King Street West meet, they have also recently opened up a new location on College.

I’m a big on treating myself to a latte on the weekends and while I can drink my lattes with milk, wherever possible I try to get an almond milk latte.

I really enjoy the lattes here – when I know I don’t have to add sugar it’s made just right! Normally when I have brunch I opt for some type of eggs benedict but I wanted to check out some of the Mexican inspired breakfasts.

It’s safe to say this Breakfast Burrito ($12.95) kept me full for most of the day! It was so flavourful and yummy – beans, scrambled eggs, salsa and cheese all baked in a tortilla so it was warm and crispy.

My friend L, who was my brunch date, opted for her usual – the West Coast Toast ($13.95) which is eggs benedict with smoked salmon!

Each time I’ve visited Easy Restaurant I’ve never had to wait in line – BUT the latest I’ve gone there was about 10:30am – which I guess can be considered early for brunch 😉 If you’re not an early riser on the weekends then expect to wait in line as they don’t take reservations.

I’ve been eyeing the Brioche French Toast for a while now, so I think that might be my next meal here!

Easy Restaurant has two locations:

1645 Queen Street West and 713 College Street West.

Have you been to Easy before? What’s your favourite place to brunch?
